First dance songs are not always romantic ones, ordinarily they are something that is special or significant to the couple. Above all, keep in mind that if you and your other half have a personal connection to a particular song, your guests will feel the love that you radiate on the dance floor, even if it’s not a “typical” wedding song.
Most couples have a band or DJ to play it but if you are musically or vocally talented you might opt to sing or play to your loved one.  This is a great opportunity to express yourself and your relationship with the love of your life. You don’t need to hire a choreographer or ballroom dance instructor, but you do need to make sure you feel comfortable dancing to the song you chose. If you have your heart set on certain lyrics but wish the song had a different rhythm, ask your band or DJ if they can prepare a different rendition of the song for your wedding.
For the day that is in we have been kindly given some research into the most played Valentines songs around the world and it may just provide you with a first dance option

10 most played songs on Valentine’s Day.

❥ ”Perfect” by Ed Sheeran had an average of 1,500 plays daily throughout 2018, compared to 2,055 plays on Valentine’s Day alone — a 37% increase.

❥ Camila Cabello’s seductive smash “Havana” came in at number two, followed by Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” and P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma”. Hits from famous love-struck songsters, including Bruno Mars and Charlie Puth also made the list.

❥ Somewhat surprisingly, Selena Gomez and Marshmallow came in fifth place with their duet “Wolves” with Imagine Dragons’ “Whatever It Takes” also making the top 10.

“For You” by Rita Ora and Liam Payne also found a place in listeners’ hearts.
