We’ve all heard of the ‘meet cute’ moment. Bumping into someone walking around the corner and dropping everything, chatting as they help you pick up your things and grabbing a coffee before embarking upon your happily ever after. That kind of thing.
Some meet cutes are a little less conventional. Some find love at the bank! Áine, a fitness instructor, met the future love of her life, Keith, at her local bank branch. “He was working where I was paying my mortgage and it blossomed from there!”
Not the most common way to meet your soulmate but it worked out for these two! The pair created a deep bond during a difficult time in Áine’s life. “Keith’s mum passed away over 10 years ago and when a close friend of mine passed away, Keith, who at that point was a friend, helped me and supported me through that time.
“Our friendship changed out of that to the start of a fabulous relationship and we haven’t looked back!”
Keith and Áine purchased a house together in January, 2016, and have built a home and a life together in Cromane since.
“He proposed last July on my birthday in Alicante. My whole family were there. We had all rented a villa, so I was delighted to have everyone around.”
Together they had a wonderful experience in planning their nuptials. “It is a lovely time. People make such a fuss of you and it is just incredible to be planning and milking it with fun gatherings with friends and family.”
The perfect pair tied the knot on September 25 of this year at the charming Star of the Sea church, followed by a festive meal for family and friends at Jack’s Coastguard Restaurant in Cromane. They then celebrated until they could dance no more at Sol Y Sombra in Killorglin. The perfect day.
